Eduardo Cardozo
Etnia House of Arts presents Tormenta Veneciana by artist Eduardo Cardozo.
Working at the intersection of painting, installation and material experimentation, Eduardo Cardozo explores the expressive possibilities of canvas, oil and glass as living elements within the artwork.
“Rather than serving as a passive support, the canvas becomes an active presence. It bends, unfolds and merges with the painted gesture, creating a sense of movement that runs throughout the piece. The glass holds a sky inspired by the great Venetian painting tradition, introducing light, depth and a latent tension, like the calm instant before a storm breaks.
My work begins with a dialogue between the body and the material. I am interested in what emerges through touch, instinct and repetition—those moments when the hand discovers something before it can be fully understood. Painting becomes a space where matter, memory and emotion meet.
Tormenta Veneciana invites viewers into an unstable atmosphere, suspended between presence and transformation. A place where forms seem to shift, and where looking becomes an experience of sensing, rather than simply seeing.”
